Health and Safety. The development of adequate and effective environmental, health, and safety training programs is not only a regulatory requirement, but it is the key to avoiding accidents, improving employee morale, preventing damaged products and equipment, and the key to waste minimization.
A major element of hazard reduction is the emphasis on personnel safety and the assurance of safe practices. The Global staff is dedicated to providing a workplace that is safe and productive. Our new-hire training program includes: such components as emergency response and fire-fighting safety, hazard communication, location of MSDS(s), ergonomics, forklift operation, and use of personal protective equipment. Safety meetings are conducted monthly. Personnel protective equipment includes: safety glasses, gloves, and work boots.
Facility emergency response equipment includes: fire extinguishers, first-aid kits, two-way radios, sprinkler and alarm systems, and communication equipment. The facility is not required to develop a written emergency response plan based upon the number of employees at the site, however, evacuation routes and safe meeting areas are posted near exits, and new employees receive training in emergency response procedures.
